Overview The P-18 Bluetooth Reader allows you to take encrypted chip and contactless payments directly through the Payrix Mobile App. If your reader is not appearing in the app, it is likely due to a Bluetooth "handshake" error or a firmware mismatch.
Initial Connection Steps
Turn on the reader by holding the Power button for 3 seconds until the blue light blinks.
Open the Payrix App on your smartphone or tablet.
Go to Settings > Hardware > Connect Reader.
Select your reader from the list (it will appear as "Worldpay-P18-XXXX").
Troubleshooting "Reader Not Found" If the app cannot find your device, check the following:
Location Services: Ensure "Location Permissions" are set to "Always Allow" in your phone's OS settings. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) requires location access to pair.
Previous Pairings: If you previously used this reader with a different phone, you must "Forget Device" in the old phone’s Bluetooth settings before it will pair with a new one.
The "Hard Reset": Use a paperclip to press the tiny reset button located next to the charging port. Hold for 5 seconds.
LED Indicator Guide
Blinking Blue: Ready to pair.
Solid Blue: Connected and ready to swipe/dip.
Blinking Red: Battery low (less than 15%).
Solid Red: System error (Contact support for a replacement).
